Series of Eco-Forum on Guidelines for Transport of Hazardous
Wastes from Economic Zones and PEZA-DENR Memorandum of Agreement
The PEZA-ESG, in cooperation with GTZ and UNDP, conducted a
series of Eco-Fora last August and September 2004 to discuss
the Guidelines for Transport of Hazardous Wastes from Economic
Zones and PEZA-DENR Memorandum of Agreement which was attended
by various representatives, mostly Pollution Control Officers,
of PEZA-registered economic zone enterprises.
A similar Eco-Forum, focusing on Guidelines for Transport
of Hazardous Wastes from Economic Zones, was conducted for
DENR-Accredited
Transporters held at PEZA Head Office.
Guidelines for Transport of Hazardous Wastes from Economic
Zones
Issued through PEZA Memorandum Circular # 2004-020, the Guidelines
for Transport of Hazardous Wastes from Economic Zones specifies
how should transport of hazardous wastes from economic zones
in compliance with Republic Act 6969 “Toxic Substances
and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990” and
its Implementing Rules and Regulations (DENR Administrative
Order # 29 Series of 1992).

PEZA-DENR Memorandum of Agreement and its Implementing Rules
and Regulations
PEZA and DENR signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the
25th of August 1999, and signed its Implementing Rules and
Regulations (IRR) last 11th of February 2004, to intensify
their coordinating efforts to protect the environment, help
the economic zone enterprises comply with the environmental
laws, rules and regulations, and streamline procedures for
environmental requirements.
